March 25, 2025 – Lincoln Property Company (Lincoln), a global full-service real estate services firm, and Music City Baseball, LLC, through its Stars Development Group, LLC, announced today they have entered into an agreement to secure and obtain entitlements for a future mixed-use development that could include a multi-purpose venue to bring a Major League Baseball team to Nashville.

Music City Baseball, an organization comprised of top business, sports, music and community leaders, is laying the groundwork to bring Major League Baseball to Nashville during the league’s upcoming expansion, and has established Nashville Stars as the team name, in honor of the historic Negro Leagues baseball team that played in the city during the 1940s and 1950s.

“This partnership is an important step forward in the long-term strategy to bring Major League Baseball to Nashville,” said John Loar, Managing Director of Music City Baseball. “Identifying and securing the ideal site for a potential multi-purpose entertainment venue and stadium that could host baseball will be critical in making sure Nashville is prepared when Major League Baseball is ready to expand. Lincoln’s local expertise and national presence makes the firm a perfect partner to work with us on this vital piece of the puzzle.”

Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred has signaled he hopes to have a process in place for the league to expand from 30 to 32 teams before he retires in 2029. Given Nashville’s steady growth, dedicated sports fans, and world-renowned music, tourism, and entertainment assets, many national observers believe the Music City is at the top of the short-list for MLB expansion.

“We are proud to be a part of the incredible economic growth and momentum in Nashville as the city has become a top travel destination in the U.S., and we welcome the opportunity to help identify and develop a site that can bring Major League Baseball to Nashville,” said Tyler Jones, Executive Vice President of Lincoln. “As a Nashville resident, I am energized by the opportunity to watch Major League Baseball in our city, and I know many neighbors and likeminded baseball fans share this same excitement. Our team looks forward to doing all we can to help make this a reality for Nashville and the state of Tennessee.”
