November 3, 2024 – If you are a teenager or a young adult, or have a friend or family member who is, there’s a good chance that you were glued to the World Series. And you have plenty of company.
The first two games of the World Series registered a 93% increase in viewership within the 18-34 year-old audience in the U.S. compared to last year, according to an announcement from Major League Baseball.
Social media also drew extremely high interest after the Dodgers claimed the first two games of the Series, as the league’s social media platforms registered the most views and engagements in World Series history over that stretch. Through two games, MLB’s social channels registered more than 345 million views (+229% vs. 2023) and 25 million engagements (+225% vs. 2023).
“It’s about the focus on the players, trying to grow the game into a more national product, [achieving] international growth, and [engaging] young people,” MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred told Front Office Sports before Game 2. “When you get a stage like this, it’s an opportunity to step forward.”
Throughout the month of October, we noted the surge in viewership throughout the 2024 MLB regular season and into the playoffs, particularly from the 18-34 age demographic. Major League Baseball continues to demonstrate its growing strength among fans — of all ages, and around the world — and the Nashville Stars are excited to join the league’s best teams in producing such memorable results for fans each and every season.
