January 29, 2025 – On the heels of Nashville’s 40th annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, several members of the Nashville Stars Baseball Club headed west to Kansas City to visit the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum and get the tour from President and Nashville Stars Board Member Bob Kendrick.

“Any time you come here, it’s just magical,” Nashville Stars Manager of Communications and Advancement Chris Bacon said. “It takes your breath away, and then you realize all the things you want to go and look at. It changes you – you have to come here to really understand and feel it. Every time you come here, there’s something new.”

The trip was an especially fruitful opportunity for Gemo Wong — who designed our new Stars logo — to connect with Kendrick and experience how special the memories housed within the Museum truly are.

“I think I’m most excited about connecting Bob with Gemo, and watching the group go on the tour (of the Museum),” Stars Managing Director John Loar said. “I’ve been on the tour myself, and it’s awesome.”

The Stars also added another “hat swap” to the collection, as Kendrick donned the cap with our new logo (pictured above, center) during the visit.

“This never gets old for me,” Kendrick said before showing the Stars around the Museum. “So every time I get someone who has not experienced the Museum, I always get excited about sharing not only the stories but what our mindset was – with why and how we created the experience that we did.”

Remember: Be sure to follow the Stars on FacebookXInstagram and LinkedIn for more images and an upcoming video on the recent visit!

The Stars thank Kendrick and everyone at the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum for once again delivering the “magical” experience for our entire team, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit!
