January 23, 2025 – The Stars look good on you, Donnie Baseball!

Nashville Stars Baseball Advisor and Toronto Blue Jays bench coach Don Mattingly was the featured speaker at the Nashville Old Timers Baseball Association’s annual banquet last Sunday. He made sure to catch up with our team for our latest “hat swap” as we launch our new Nashville Stars logo!

Remember: Stay tuned to our FacebookXInstagram and LinkedIn pages, where you can catch the full clips from our hat swap with Mattingly and many more of our recent hat swaps!

Mattingly engaged with many guests before the banquet to sign autographs and take photographs before joining hundreds more for the main event, including some who engaged with him in a Q&A session. Throughout the night, the Nashville Old Timers Baseball Association celebrated the legacy of baseball in Nashville by honoring several of its distinguished members, and shined a light on the future of the sport by awarding scholarships to more than a dozen high school baseball players from across the Midstate.

Mattingly himself also recognized the future of Music City as a market with the strength to support a new Major League Baseball franchise.

“I think Nashville has shown — from football, soccer and hockey — that it’s a Major League city,” Mattingly said during his speech. “For me, it’s a lot like LA and New York … people know the stars. They want to see the people that they see on TV and hear on the radio, and there are tons of stars in Nashville.

“I think Nashville is the perfect place for another Major League team,” Mattingly concluded.

The Nashville Stars certainly agree, and we applaud Mattingly for his presence and his message at the banquet. We likewise thank him for his insight as a valued advisor for our team, and we wish him and the Blue Jays well during the upcoming 2025 MLB season. Go Stars!
